I was the first UI/UX Designer for the Experience team at edX, meaning I showcased my UI expertise while growing my UX skillset. The Experience team had a mix of skills so I mentored teammates across projects to strengthen our group's visual chops. I balanced workloads between multiple projects with multiple delivery teams for initiatives across Discovery, Revenue, Core, and Master's Degrees.
Valuable product design
On the Discovery team I researched and designed program offering pages to showcase content with a result of +40% lift in conversions. I also strategized and designed landing experiences for new Master's degree product, a projected $30 million opportunity. On the Revenue team I redesigned and tested a new value proposition and flow for enhanced revenue model driving a projected $20+ million revenue increase.
Raising the bar for quality design
I refreshed the consumer-facing homepage UI within an experience overhaul that resulted in a 15% reduction in bounce rate. I also created consistent interface design across edX platforms with a Sketch pattern library and collaborated with front-end developers to create an accompanying Bootstrap theme.
Design sprint workshops
The Discovery product team focused on rapid, iterative problem solving to accelerate learnings. I led our design thinking workshops with representatives from Experience, Engineering, Product, and Business Analytics. I facilitated a collaborative process of ideation, research, prioritization, design, development, and testing.
During a collaborative summit for the UX team, I defined and visualized our core experience to pitch the long term vision and align our partners on our strategy.
